It is not just about what to feed the cat the people should be concerned about but also about how to keep your cat active and mentally alert. Cats need time to adapt to change and that could mean the introduction of another cat or a new space they are unfamiliar with. It usually means spending time with them so they can interact instead of being alone. Ideally another cat to start out with helps keep the single cat active and involved but if space is an issue than it would be better not to have two together especially if they are both males and need to mark their territories.

If the cat does no normally go out of the house consider the fact that he needs exercise just the same which revolves around having things to do while in the enclosed space. These may be simple objects that you can create on your own like a used rod that nylon cord can be attached to and then a catnip filled mouse or other toy that attracts attention. Movement elicits their attention and they love hide and seek.

Dental care should be intiated fom the start to avoid the build up of tartar which is difficult to remove just with the choice of right food. Vets do suggest just solod food which forces the cat to chew on its back molars the sight where most of the tartar is likely to build, just as in humans. It is also part of the mouth which is more difficult to access if you are going to stick a finger in with one of the fingered tooth brushes especialy made for little critters.The Vet might advise ou to just apply toothpast on the out side of the molars to avoid getting bitten.

Choices of fles remedies are abundant. This cat owner is leery of giving up on the Sargent’s type with a chemical which is supposed to act on the nervous system of the flea and paralyze it. There is proof that the chemical works on fleas so why not keep it even though you may be advised to the contrary. Others suggest a liquid chemical absorbed through the cat’s skin that will also act on the flea but differently. here it will impede the development of the flea young into adults and will also block the hatching of flea eggs. This was advised as a three dosage remedy and has to eb repeatedeach spring when fleas are more active. That os of course when you live in a temperate climate with cold winters where snow and ice on the ground tend to slow the process of fleas hopping on the cat and biting.
